Well, they’ve done it again! Our friends from Fujitsu have been working their magic at the Roebuck site with 3 teams of volunteers on 3 separate days.
Fujitsu volunteering days have become somewhat of a tradition at Waste Not Want Not over recent years.
This month we were very fortunate to welcome a record number of 24 people from Fujitsu who worked extremely hard alongside our regular volunteers including project leader Craig and patron Kim.
The transition from summer to autumn is a key time at any plant nursery. And this year, our best to date in terms of volunteers and visitors, was always going to require a big push. The extra help from Fujitsu has been a real boost to us.
Planting seeds, repotting rescued late flowering annuals, bark chipping paths, bonfire clearing, cutting back and repotting shrubs, working right through the plant hospital area are just some of the jobs achieved over the 3 days.
The site looks amazing!
The opportunity for people who would otherwise probably never meet to work together towards a common goal for a day is extremely rewarding in many ways. Most of all it promotes the Waste Not Want Not key word of ‘Community’.
So, Fujitsu friends, thank you to you all for your continued, invaluable support, helping us help others.
We are, as ever, extremely grateful.
We very hope you are able to join us again next year.
“…the day has made people who volunteered aware of this secret gem of a site.”
