When the gardening team at Fanhams Hall, the breathtaking Jacobean mansion in Ware, called to say they were digging up their violas and pansies we jumped at the chance to rescue them.
We thoroughly enjoyed the morning digging up the plants surrounded by 27 acres of unparalleled intrigue and beauty. The gardens at Fanhams Hall were created between 1900 and 1910 and have been lovingly restored by their fantastic grounds team under the guidance of English Heritage.
As is our want at Waste Not Want Not the plants were brought back for some nurturing although very little was needed and then repotted into baskets and containers.
A big thank you to Tim and his team at Fanhams Hall for the wonderful plants and the wonderful day.
